Statement

The drawings for my composite series conjoin human anatomy with insect and plant life to create forms that pose frozen in suspended animation. Each individual component is selected because it possesses an attribute that the other counterparts lack. The idea is to create a symbiotic system that is not only defined and understood through its diverse membership, but also enriched by it. The architectural footprints, cloth and equipment provide a sense of place, order and human logic that exist as counterpoints to the more instinctual existence of the insect.
